I won’t argue that. It does have Buddy Holly

Honestly, have you seen them live? One of the best shows I’ve been to in my life. Tiny Delmar Hall in St Louis. I normally hate listening to bands jam just to jam. It’s like jerking on stage generally. I could listen to the Dandys jam for hours. And I wasn’t even on drugs. Other worldly. The guitarist and keyboardist would lock eyes across the stage. He would play something and she would manipulate it. Crazy. Just crazy and beautiful sound. Better than the albums for sure.

This was almost the set that I heard. But inside, dark and with fucking tripped out lights.

I caught SO MUCH SHIT for liking them when they were a thing, but I love them. I want to star you twice, because now I want to see them live.

Have you seen the documentary “Dig!”? It’s about the Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. It’s an amazing music documentary.

The take away is pretty much that Jonestown is the more authentic band, but Newcomb is a crazy junkie (“you broke my fucking sitar, man”), but, eh. Jonestown released all their music free, and they have some great songs (Anemone, Vacuum Boots), but they’re a bit repetitive.

Portland. Many shows in Portland. Or over seas now. They’re middle age. Don’t want to leave the house more often than they have to. When they do, they wanna go somewhere nice.
